Payment and Refund Policy
Last updated: 19 September 2026
Scope of the Policy and Covered Services
This Payment and Refund Policy applies to all purchases of digital courses, resources and related professional materials offered through showzoneup. The policy covers studio production training focused on equipment setup, camera operation, lighting techniques, sound management and workflow optimisation for television and live broadcast environments. It governs transactions made by customers located in the United Kingdom and explains how payments are processed, when contracts are formed and the circumstances under which refunds may be granted. The policy does not extend to third-party services or physical goods unless explicitly stated at the point of sale.
Prices, Currencies, Taxes and Additional Charges
All prices are displayed in British Pounds Sterling. Value Added Tax at the prevailing UK rate is included where applicable and shown separately on the checkout summary. No hidden fees are added after the total is confirmed. Customers are responsible for any currency conversion charges imposed by their payment provider or bank. Promotional discounts are applied automatically when valid codes are entered and cannot be combined with other offers unless otherwise indicated.
Accepted Payment Methods, Authorisation and Security
We accept major credit and debit cards, PayPal and bank transfers for course enrolments. Payment authorisation occurs immediately upon submission of an order. Transactions are processed through secure third-party gateways that comply with PCI DSS standards. showzoneup does not store full card details. Authorisation may be declined if the payment method is invalid, exceeds limits or triggers fraud detection systems. In such cases the order will not proceed until a valid payment is received.
Order Confirmation and Contract Formation
A binding contract is formed once you receive an order confirmation email containing your receipt and access instructions. This email constitutes acceptance of your offer to purchase. Until that point either party may cancel without penalty. Access credentials for digital resources are delivered electronically following successful payment verification, typically within minutes but no later than one working day.
Cancellation Rights and Applicable Periods
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of the confirmation email during which you may cancel for any reason. Digital content that has been downloaded or streamed during this period is considered consumed and the right to cancel may be lost. Services that have begun with your agreement before the end of the cooling-off period are also non-cancellable. You must notify us in writing within the period to exercise this right.
Refund Eligibility, Exclusions and Non-Refundable Items
Refunds are available for unused digital courses within the 14-day cooling-off period provided no substantial content has been accessed. Once a course module has been viewed or downloaded the purchase becomes non-refundable. Subscriptions that have been activated for more than 14 days are ineligible for refund. Promotional or heavily discounted bundles may carry additional restrictions stated at purchase. No refunds are provided for change of mind after the cooling-off period or for failure to meet personal technical requirements.
Step-by-Step Procedure to Request a Refund
To request a refund contact [email protected] or use the form on the Contacts page. Include your order number, full name, registered email address and a clear statement of the reason for the request. You may also telephone 020 7713 9800 during business hours for assistance. Requests must be submitted from the account used to make the original purchase. Incomplete submissions will be returned for additional information.
Inspection, Approval, Rejection and Notification
Each request is reviewed within five working days of receipt. We assess whether content has been accessed, whether the cooling-off period applies and whether any exclusions are relevant. You will receive written notification of the decision by email. Approved refunds proceed immediately; rejected requests include an explanation and details of any remaining rights. Decisions are final once communicated.
Refund Method, Processing Time and Receipt of Funds
Refunds are issued to the original payment method. Credit or debit card refunds typically appear within five to ten working days depending on your card issuer. PayPal refunds are usually credited within two to three working days. Bank transfer refunds are processed within seven working days. You will receive a confirmation email once the refund has been initiated. Delays beyond these timeframes should be reported to [email protected].
Special Rules for Digital Content, Subscriptions and Promotional Offers
Digital courses are supplied instantly upon payment and are therefore subject to the loss of cancellation rights once access begins. Subscription renewals are charged automatically unless cancelled at least seven days before the renewal date. Promotional offers such as free trial periods convert to paid subscriptions automatically unless cancelled before the trial ends. No partial refunds are available for partially used subscription periods.
Failed Payments, Duplicate Charges, Chargebacks and Suspected Fraud
Failed payments must be resolved within seven days or the order will be cancelled. Duplicate charges detected by our system are automatically refunded. If you initiate a chargeback without first contacting us we reserve the right to suspend your account pending investigation. Suspected fraudulent activity results in immediate order cancellation and may be reported to relevant authorities. Customers remain liable for legitimate debts even after a chargeback is reversed.

These rights cannot be excluded or limited by contract. If you believe any term conflicts with your legal entitlements please seek independent advice or contact the Citizens Advice Bureau.
